Still Frame Analysis'
Pale skin contrasts with black background connote he feels like he doesn’t belong where he is. Black connotes a sense of nothingness suggesting he is lost.
Green pupils connote hope as green connotes new life. Also green symbolizes freshness connoting he may be a young person who is very much trying to get to grips with various life changes in one youth. His eyes are watery suggesting sadness, green symbolizes growth connote he is struggling with growth or getting people to see his growth which s why he is sad. ‘ the eyes are the window to the soul’ indicates his growth is more of an emotional or mental one which he is struggling with suggesting insecurity and a lack of confidence he has in himself.
His bottom and top eyelashes are quite long. Eyelashes are intended to protect the eye from debris; his long eyelashes with teary eyes could be symbolic to an inner shield he has to put up constantly to protect himself from the hatred or ill feelings of other people towards him.
As you get closer to his pupil the lighter the color of the iris becomes, this could be symbolic of him- as you get deeper into his soul/personality the brighter he is, the more goodness you can see suggesting he has a good heart.
she is facing away from the door , suggesting she is ashamed of what she is about to do. An alternative inpretation would be she dosent care who comes in and sees her connoting she has no regrest for what she is about to do and enjoys being different .
The lighting of the toilet is quite dark and dull, connoting a dark cloud and her negative/pesistimatic outlook on life however the two white tiles could be symbolic to the shimmer of hope within her mind of change and her need to be accepeted for who she is.
The white mask connotes freedom as white symbolises peace. this suggests that rather than being used as a tool to hide away, the mask is a way for her to be free. also the mask has intricute designs with bsome spashles of colour, this connotes the complexity within her rather than a bland person the outside world may see her as. Also the hole where the eye is supposed to be is quite big, this indiciates she sees the bigger picture of life and is someone who thinks about the longterm plan rather than live for today.
The man has a stern facial expression, which connotes a dominating attitude and he's an authorative figure.
the use of a white chalkboard connotes a lack of advanced teachnology with the school, also that the school is either adamant to stick to traditional methods of learning or they are too poor to be able to update their school equipment.
the inncorect sum highlights ignority and how education tecahes you what they want or think you should know but what should be learnt is up to perception. Additionally it shows how naive children can be and how powerful education is in teaching the younger genreation about livelihood.
the fact it is an addition sum connotes a sense of overwhelming and pressure on these kids, day iu day out they are focred to comprehend diffrent forms of knowledge, connoting it may be weighing the kids down and they lack the balance between work and play instead its all just work for these kids.
The rubbing out of the blood is a metaphor for the past being erased for the benefit of those in power. The blood signifies the idea that fascists will simply reject anyone with an opinion different to their own.
The still frame helps me think more about mise-en-scene and the connotions it may influence to a viewer.

The smashing of the glass could connote destruction and glass is fragile thus it could be symbolic of life which could suggest the fragmentation or breakdown of ones life.
The glass was full with ice and a liquid. Ice could be symmbolic the person's cold,icy nature which they are letting go of and the liquid could symbolise sadness and tears which is also being let go, connoting a sense of moving on and seeing things in a positive light.
Space/Galaxy connotes unquestionable wonders and curosity, this suggests there could be many sides to the protagonist that hasn't been discovered yet by thoose close to them.
Space is boundless and is always at the heart of debates e.g. the cold war, this could connote the protogonist is one to spark controversity among society, they do not follow what ever everyone else is doing, indiciating they are sure in who exactly they are.
