“What have you learned from your audience feedback?”

I asked various people to view my film and asked them for feedback. Doing this on whatsapp was quick as I was able to easily ask a lot of people to view my film, their feedback reinforced audience members understood the message and it impacted them which was my aim to make my audience an active audience as they questioned the purpose of scenes and if society depicts what we think love is. This is important as if they feel it is impacting they are more likely to recommended it to someone else.

Strengths:
-
Overarching message ( theme of self-love)
-
External shots
-
Use of sound
Weaknesses:
-
Sometimes footage had grainy look
-
insert shots could use a different look e.g. qyicker editing
It is important to analyse all the feedback and be able to say the generalised views across the board about the strengths and weaknesses of my short film, this also helped me know if i was to change it the most things of my film that need work. In regards to feedback, I feel audiences were more focused on the message and figuring out what was going on in the film to comment on other things like shots used. The category that was commented on the most was the sound and the editing, whereas camera was occasionally mentioned but the mise-en-scene was only mentioned once. This tells me the use of mise-en-scene in my film wasn’t as effective as the other elements and it is something that should be emphasised more to connote meanings to the audience, making my audience even more of an active audience rather than a passive audience.
