Throughout my protagonist will have mostly sad and fed up expressions to show how done she is with life and hopeless at finally finding someone to love her.Eyes give particularly important signals to us when we are trying to read someone’s expression and it is usual for us to follow the direction of their sight, so when I want to draw attention to a feature I shall use this to make the audience focus on something or someone in the frame.

Mise-en-scene helped me have a firm idea as to what my character will wear and what props i will be using.

Dear Megan...

 all the scenes

My short film consists of one protagonist in most of the scenes as i wanted to keep the story short and simple so the overall messagee is more memorable. However i do have extras therefore my female protognist always maintains some distance with other people to emphaise she is alone no matter where or who she is with.

I originally believed i would have some extras in my short film however i later decided i would not therefore I've thought about how my character would be positioned in the various scenes- she will have a light slouch and look fed up which should be highlighted through her body language

High key lighting is a style of lighting for film, television, or photography that aims to reduce the lighting ratio present in the scene. This was originally done partly for technological reasons, since early film and television did not deal well with high contrast ratios, but now is used to suggest an happiness, opportunism or youthfulness.

Due to my short film being in the drama genre HIGH KEY LIGHTING will be more suitable.

• More filler lights are used. Lighting is natural and realistic to our eyes

• Produces brightly lit sets or a sunny day

• most of my scenes take place inside a house therefore high key lighting is more natural

HOWEVER.. LOW KEY LIGHTING stimulates a somber, mysterious, gloomy mood therefore it suitable for my short film due to the message of my short film, hence I shall be challenging the convention of drama genre by including some low key lighting in my short film.
